Environmental Impact Classification for Alien Taxa

Pourquoi assister à cette session?
Measuring impacts of invasive alien species is critical for informing the development of policies and prioritisation of management action. In this session you will learn how to apply a new IUCN scheme that measures the magnitude of environmental impacts of alien species; the Environmental Impact Classification for Alien Taxa (EICAT).
HideDescription
The session will provide training on the IUCN Environmental Impact Classification for Alien Taxa (EICAT) scheme, a tool that can be used to compare the magnitude of impacts between alien taxa and areas. It will showcase the principles of applying its Categories and Criteria, and how the results should and should not be applied. The audience will leave with a solid understanding of how to apply EICAT and how it can be used to support work on prioritising management actions and developing policies that aim to address impacts from invasive alien species.
