Social / Cultural Events and Private Meetings are an integral part of IUCN Congresses, bringing together a wide range of stakeholders from diverse fields – including the creative arts, communications, business, government, education, and other sectors – to connect and showcase efforts in nature conservation and sustainability in innovative and interactive ways.
These events – whether accessible to the general public, open to registered participants or by invitation only – offer invaluable opportunities for inspired learning, sharing and networking in informal settings at IUCN Congresses.
The Call for Social / Cultural Events and Private Meetings for the IUCN World Conservation Congress 2020 closed on 30 June 2020.
IUCN was pleased to receive a total of 63 proposals for Social events (including receptions, networking events, conferences, and other social gatherings), Cultural events (including art exhibits, photo exhibits, concerts and art performances film screenings) and Private meetings.
The Review Committee has selected proposals based on the selection criteria and the overall balance and diversity across the Congress programme.
Accepted Social and Cultural events will feature in the official Congress Programme; Private meetings will not be advertised in the Official Programme.
Any updates linked to Social / Cultural Events and Private Meetings for the IUCN Congress will be published on this page.
Important note: IUCN and the French government, together with the local authorities, are working on a variety of health and safety precautions for the Congress to ensure maximum safety for its participants. This plan will ensure adequate physical distancing and/or physical barriers where necessary, as well as include an updated cleaning and disinfection protocol. The venue will have hand-washing facilities and hand sanitizer at all critical locations.
