Bruno Romagny is an economist, research director (HDR) at the French national research institute for sustainable development (IRD). He’s actually (2016-2021) co-director of the International Mixed Laboratory (LMI) MediTer “Terroirs méditerranéens”, located in Morocco (Rabat & Marrakech) and in Tunisia. The issues of access, use and ways of appropriating renewable resources (water, forests, pastures, fish stocks, etc.), as well as the difficulties raised by their concerted management on a local scale, are at the heart of its work in the South. His research led him to work first in Côte d'Ivoire (1997-2000) on the maritime fisheries sector, then on water in the Maghreb and on desertification in Tunisia (2002-2006); and since 2003 on various topics in Morocco.
