Mr Pablo DOMINGUEZ
Senior Researcher, CNRS
My background is transdisciplinary, combining a 6 years BSc in Environmental Biology at the UA of Madrid with a 7 years PhD research in Sociocultural Anthropology at the EHESS of Paris. My PhD studied how symbolic-religious representations and socio-material uses of the Environment relate to each other in the case of Moroccan High Atlas community-based management systems. Today my research focuses on understanding the most transdisciplinarily possible communal pastoral resource governance, as well as possible paths of support to these systems from a double point of view in terms of heritage enhancement and political ecology. I research ‘about’ and ‘for’ action in favor of the natural and cultural values of such systems. I mostly focus in Mediterranean mountains such as the High Atlas, the Andalusian Baetic mountains, the Pyrenees and the Dinaric Alps, at the same time as I also supervise a PhD about pastoral commons in East Africa (Kenya).
