Mr Clément AUBERT
PhD student , Nature Conserv'Action
I am a PhD student at the University of Montpellier (France). He has a BSc and MSc in Ecology also from the University of Montpellier. My work is mainly focused on herpetological conservation, including adaptation and use of technologies like drones and DNA barcoding for improved conservation science and application. I am involved with several wildlife conservation NGO’s in France and abroad that implement community conservation, training, monitoring, photogrammetric data approaches, science communication, and awareness raising for nature conservation. I have implemented projects in Niger, Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon, and the Seychelles. Part of this work resulted in the development of a recommended, standardized drone survey protocol to count crocodiles in West Africa that compared traditional diurnal and nocturnal spotlight surveys methods to drones for improved crocodilians census globally.
