Towards an intersectional Blue Peace: Transforming Transboundary Water Governance (ACTUAL TIME 11:15-12:00)

Pourquoi assister à cette session?
The session will offer a presentation of preliminary findings stemming from interviews with gender and transboundary water governance experts along with interactive exercises to deconstruct our knowledge on gender and to offer an intersectional approach to transboundary water management.
HideDescription
We need a transformational change to the way water is managed and governed that disrupts the status quo to secure water for the future. This session will invite an interactive discussion on innovative, diverse and equitable ways to increase the participation of women in water negotiations and decision making while preparing and supporting youth for future water leadership. This event will offer an opportunity to look at transboundary water cooperation with a gender lens and offer thoughts on the way forward for participation and diversity in transboundary water governance. It will offer recommendations on how to equip today’s youth for future water leadership while pointing out specific actions needed to ensure gender mainstreaming in negotiations and decisions made over shared water resources.
