How restoration can enhance water security in urban and rural areas of Central America? (Actual time 12:15-13:30)

Pourquoi assister à cette session?
In Central America, landscape restoration of key water recharge areas is key to enhance water security in vulnerable and densely urban and rural territories affected by climate change. Results from the application of spatial tools and participatory approaches will show how sound information can orient investment and decision-making.
HideDescription
Water is a scarce resource in urban and rural areas. Innovative tools and multidimensional results to target critical areas and practices to ensure water security in urban and rural areas will be presented. The engagement of Municipalities, local and indigenous communities is the entry point, combined with the use of tools such as ROAM and InVest. Solid information and sound governance are needed for sustainable management and investment and to mainstream NbS into local and national public policies. Case studies from Guatemala, Honduras and Panama will be presented.
