Plant Blindness - One of the greatest conservation challenges we face

A phenomenon called ‘plant blindness’ means we tend to under-appreciate the flora around us. This has significant impacts on our awareness of the need for protecting threatened and endangered plant species as well as the plant diversity of ecosystems. An international team of researchers and stakeholders will introduce current research and provide examples of how plant blindness impacts assessments of the diversity and health of an ecosystem and may lead to failure of conservation planning, and what we can do to overcome it.
