Sam and Chúk opened their own environmental non-profit, The Poison and The Apple, seeking to change the way in which Canadians view and interact with nature at a sociocultural level. That is to say, they focused on new and unique ways of helping people find and stimulate their connection with nature and the outdoors in order to facilitate a bond with nature with segments of the population that are often ignored or misunderstood. One of their key demographics are youth/young people.
In this session, Sam and Chúk, as young people, will explore a new narrative on youth engagement; youth empowering youth. Sharing stories of the success they have found building and working with teams of young people, this session will inspire attendees to change the way they think young people and the complex environmental challenges the planet faces.
