Dr Gwen MAGGS
Programme Support Associate Invasive Species, IUCN
I have worked in threatened species recovery for 15 years, specifically in invasive species management, species reintroductions and in-situ species management. My work and research has taken me to the Indian Ocean but also at home within the UK, specialising in landscape-scape scale invasive species management. I am especially interested in driving evidence based management of threatened species and ecosystems, by bridging the research-management gap. Specifically, through robust science, collaborations (e.g. knowledge exchange, stakeholder workshops, consultations) and capacity development, having recently co-created the IUCN register of competences for threatened species recovery practitioners.
