Pourquoi assister à cette session?
Indigenous Peoples across the globe manage significant areas of the Earth’s most biodiverse regions. The profound relationships that we have with the whole of the natural world are a hallmark of our worldviews and values.
HideDescription
Yesterday, at the World Summit of Indigenous Peoples and Nature, hosted at the IUCN World Conservation Congress, Indigenous Peoples reaffirmed their rights and presented their proposals as stewards of nature through a Global Indigenous Agenda for the Governance of Indigenous Lands, Territories, Waters, Coastal Seas and Natural Resources and have called on the global community to support them. Join this press conference to learn more about the Global Indigenous Agenda and post-launch steps from IUCN Indigenous Peoples Organisations. This Global Indigenous Agenda is being put forward by IUCN IPOs as a groundbreaking emergency/urgent motion before the Union’s Member Assembly. If adopted, it marks a moment wherein IPOs have developed and submitted a fully self-determined Agenda that is adopted by international intergovernmental and CSO institutions – at this scale, it is an important precedence in international policymaking.
