Living 1.5: An Anatomy of Action

Pourquoi assister à cette session?
We hear warnings about climate change and biodiversity loss - but what can we do? This session activates people’s personal and professional decisions to tip the scales for change. Ranging from what we eat, how we live, move and have fun to how we work and what governments and businesses can do to make sustainable living the default option.
HideDescription
Though 'sustainable living' and lifestyles issues appear in media, the discourse is unfocused - we lack the climate compass for effective impact. This session bridges current research and what people can do in their personal and professional lives to tip the scales for change. It explores 1) 1.5 and Living: evidence on the 1.5 target and lifestyles and core domains of food, mobility, housing, and leisure (consumer goods, tourism), 2) How to make it happen: tools and approaches from around the world that can be tailored and upscaled 3) Promising initiatives (urban, cross sectoral) and climate & biodiversity potential 4) Promoting a New Normal: influencers, change leaders and how to use behavior change with consumers and decision makers. Partnering with UNESCO, the One Planet Network Sustainable Lifestyles and Education Programme, Sweden, other concerned governments (eg Japan), experts (WWF, IGES, Futerra) and media. https://www.oneplanetnetwork.org/sustainable-lifestyles-and-education/a
