Steven is the Biodiversity lead for TotalEnergies a broad energy company present in 130 countries and with 108,000 staff. He oversees the group’s biodiversity programme, working on company policy, rules, tools & partnerships development. He is also directly involved for staff training and awareness. Steven has a biodiversity advisory role across all company activities. In 2018 he spearheaded the adhesion of TOTAL to the “Act4Nature” initiative which resulted in a new set of CEO lead public biodiversity commitments. In 2020 he led the Group's 2020-2025 Biodiversity Ambition, as a contribution to the UN CBD’s post 2020 GBF. He is the company representative at the O&G sector association IPIECA Biodiversity work group as a vice-chair. In 2021, Steven was nominated by IPBES as expert. He is actively engaged with the UN CBD as the sector representative for the COP 15 preparation process.
