Mrs. Ornela Çuçi was born in Gjirokastra in 1982. From 2000 2004 she studied at the University "Eqerem Çabej" in Gjirokastra, . She further went on to earn an honorary Doctorate Degree in this university and currently holds a "Doctor of Science"degree, based on scientific research on the impact of urban waste management and soil contamination in southern Albania . In 2016, she served as Prime Minister's Adviser on Environmental Issues and as the National Coordinator for Integrated Urban Waste Management and since October 2017, she is the Deputy Minister of Tourism and the Environment. Since 2019, she has been a board member of the Green Climate Fund and Global Environmental Facilities and a member of the project evaluation committees in them. Also the UNFCCC National Focal Point and the Minamata Convention. She is fluent in English, Greek, French and Italian.
