Economist specialized in climate change and sustainable development. Interested in integrating adaptation in low emission development pathways, establishing financial mechanisms and economic instruments for implementation.
Have advised groups of countries in the UNFCCC negotiations and in Progresum focussed on international energy and adaptation academic programs. Have designed national adaptation programs, collaborated in regional processes and projects to reduce emissions i.e. led negotiations of external debt swaps of developing countries, designed NAMAs of energy efficiency, Costa Rica's National Adaptation Strategy for Biodiversity and funding proposals on urban resilience in LatAm.
Interested in transformational development strategies, the linkages of mitigation and adaptation, financial mechanisms for resilience, strengthening the synergies of nature-based solutions and disaster risk reduction.
