Mrs Gaitrie Usha MAC ANDREW- SATNARAIN
Research Coordinator, Anton de Kom University of Suriname
I am employed at the Anton de Kom University of Suriname since 2004. At first, I was working at the National Zoological Collection of Suriname, but in 2013 I was transferred at my request to the Faculty of Technological Sciences as researcher within the Master Programme Sustainable Management of Natural Resources. In my current position I am the focal point for the BIO-PLATEAUX project in Suriname which aims to create a transboundary observatory for the Maroni and Oyapock river basins. I have a master degree in Natural Resources & Environmental Management of the University of the West Indies and I am currently pursuing my PhD at the Wageningen University and Research (WUR) in the Netherlands. My PhD research will focus on the role of Scenario Evaluation Games in reflexive governance in (de)centralized governance systems in the context of coastal resilience in particular the use and conservation of mangrove forest.
