With a 15+ year track record of bringing innovative solutions to sustainable land management issues, addressing environmental and social risks, as well as blended finance approaches, and forest climate finance, Elmedina manages IUCN’s global portfolio aimed at scaling up the ambition and outcomes of restoration and other Nature-based Solutions, particularly through program design, monitoring and financing.
Prior to joining IUCN, Elmedina collaborated with UN organizations and international financial institutions such as the World Bank, IFC and EBRD, on a broad set of issues, development projects, and strategic initiatives in both public and private sectors in South-East Europe, Central Asia, and Latin America.
She holds a Master’s Degree in Forest Policy and Economics and was a Fulbright Scholar in the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies.
