Mr Andrej SOVINC

Andrej Sovinc is trained civil engineer, specialized on wetland management and restoration. He was leading the Sečovlje Salina Nature Park and Natura 2000 site for 15 years. As an university lecturer he gives courses on management of protected areas at the universities in Slovenia and in Klagenfurt, Austria. He runs a consulting company NaravaNarave, focusing on protected area design and management and projects on sustainable use of natural resources.

Since 1994 he is active in international conservation; since 2012 he is coordinating European network of over 700 experts in the IUCN World Commission on Protected areas as European Vice-Chair.
