Naciones Unidas y la movilización del conocimiento indígena y local

¿Por qué asistir a esta sesión?
Indigenous and Local Knowledge is now highlighted in major UN environmental instruments and agreements. IPBES and IPCC both emphasise the importance of ILK as an enhancement to science and as a key component of local action. For the first time, the UN system and indigenous leaders review progress on mobilising ILK for the planet.
HideDescripción
United Nations' agencies, funds, conventions and intergovernmental knowledge mechanisms are progressively including Indigenous and Local Knowledge (ILK) as an important stream of knowledge, within evidence-led decision-making. ILK plays a major role in conserving ecosystems, biodiversity and responding to climate impacts. This session gathers prominent indigenous knowledge experts along with leading UN experts to elaborate on how ILK changes how we understand nature-based solutions in climate, biodiversity and ecosystems policies and practices. Leading United Nations experts and agencies exchange with engaged indigenous leadership on the opportunities, challenges and transformational capacity of the science, ILK, policy interface, synergies, complementarity and the elusive co-production of knowledge.
