Mr Preston HARDISON
Policy Analyst, Tebtebba
I have graduate training in evolutionary biology, conservation biology and fieldwork behavioral ecology. Since the 1990s I have moved to focus on biodiversity and Indigenous rights issues. I worked as a full-time policy analyst for the Tulalip Tribes of Washington from 2000-2020. I have worked as a negotiator on Indigenous peoples' rights issues at the Convention on Biological Diversity from 1996-present, at the World Intellectual Property Organization from 2000-present and the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES). My expertise is in legal and policy issues related to traditional/indigenous knowledge, the climate-biodiversity nexus, Indigenous peoples' adaptation to biodiversity and cultural heritage/intellectual property rights.
