Biodiversity and Ecosystems Management Coordinator, Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS)

Joan John-Norville has been active in the field of environmental management for the past four decades. She began her career in the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Saint Lucia. She is currently employed at the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States(OECS) as Programme Director, Biodiversity and Ecosystems Management and also has oversight for Land and Water Resources within the Environmental Sustainability Division at the OECS. Joan has been engaged in the implementation of several initiatives related to the management of ecosystems, waste, climate change and disaster risk, community resilience and sustainable livelihoods. She holds a BSc, General Agriculture-UWI; MSc, Horticulture-Clemson University, South Carolina and project management certification. She enjoys assisting communities to improve their livelihoods while conserving the natural resources in the OECS.
