HideDescripción
The foundation of conservation is a love of nature. Children frequently feel anxiety and sadness when they think about species such as tigers and polar bears because they have been taught so many lessons on climate change that create fear. It is essential that we teach hope. We must give all children and adults the space to fall in love with nature nearby to develop this love. If we teach hope, encourage nature connection, and focus our climatology lessons on solutions, adaptations and resilience, we will inspire a love of nature, activism and conservation behavior instead of the apathy and disconnection that can come from focusing our teaching on causes and frightening future scenarios. Come learn how to teach hope in the face of climate change (and a pandemic) to all ages and try out a lesson from our Ecologist School in climatology, taught from a perspective of hope and resilience.
