Since the defining of Nature-based Solutions (NbS) at the last World Conservation Congress, there has been an unforeseeable growth in demand for and investment into NbS. The onset of a global pandemic that has tested and tried our relationship with nature has only put it in even starker contrast how our future is tied to a healthy partnership with nature. Now is the time and the current World Conservation Congress is the opportunity to learn and promote together, the potential of NbS. To start your Congress off with a message of hope and determination, join some of the authors of the IUCN Global Standard for NbS to take stock of how far we have come (celebrating with coffee and croissants) and to vision set how far we need to go, identifying the key NbS stepping stones to follow throughout Congress.
