Ocean Governance: Promoting knowledge exchanges between the Atlantic and South East Asia basins to restore marine habitats and improve MPA management

The session will present the activity of the EU Ocean Governance Project in two different ocean regions: South East Asia (SEA) and Atlantic. The project includes activities of habitat restoration and transboundary cooperation - as priorities for SEA-; and exchanges between managers of MPA and between regional and national networks of MPA managers, for the Atlantic. Some relevant thematic subjects are related to migratory species protection from an MPA management approach (e.g., marine mammals and marine turtles) and the contribution of MPAs to costal resilience. Networking is a fundamental aspect of the project, which will promote knowledge and experience exchanges between MPA managers and other relevant actors from both regions.
