Global Invasive Alien Species Target for the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework

¿Por qué asistir a esta sesión?
See what progress has been made under Aichi Target 9 on invasive alien species (IAS), join discussions on the outcomes of the CBD Open-ended Working Group on the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework, and help identify how IUCN as a Union can support the implementation and monitoring of the (draft) Post-2020 IAS Target.
HideDescripción
The session will present global progress made on achieving Aichi Target 9 on invasive alien species (IAS) in terrestrial and aquatic environments, including through commitments made under the Honolulu Challenge on IAS. With the CBD Open-ended Working Group on the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework ending days before IUCN World Conservation Congress, the session will update participants on its outcomes in relation to the IAS Target and its monitoring. The event will also present progress made with the IPBES Global assessment on IAS, and showcase regional and national strategies that are being implemented to tackle the impacts from IAS, and what they hope to achieve over the coming decade. Finally the event will identify how IUCN through its One Programme Charter can support countries and others in implementing actions that support progress towards meeting the (draft) IAS Target, and monitor its progress.
