Mr Yannick GLEMAREC
Executive Director, Green Climate Fund
Yannick Glemarec is the Executive Director of the Green Climate Fund, the world’s largest dedicated fund helping developing countries reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and enhance their ability to adapt to climate change. He has 30 years of international experience in climate change, development and finance.
From 2015 to 2018, he served as the Assistant Secretary-General and Deputy Executive Director for Policy and Programme at UN Women. Previously in New York, he was the Executive Coordinator of the UN Multi‑Partner Trust Fund Office, and served as the UNDP Deputy Executive Coordinator and Executive Coordinator for the Global Environment Facility for more than 10 years. He also worked with UNDP in increasingly senior development and environment programme positions in Europe and Asia.
He holds a PhD from the University of Paris in Environment Sciences, two Master’s degrees in Hydrology and Business Administration, and has authored several publications.
