Varun Vats has joined Syngenta Group in June 2012; manages the company’s relationships with external stakeholders on agricultural environmental sustainability, to strengthen Syngenta Group's reputation and to build and maintain relationships with key NGOs, Inter-governmental bodies, business associations, industry groups and representative bodies.

He also leads the rollout of the company’s public policy positions and thought leadership on topics material to the company. Prior to joining Syngenta Group, he had worked with the International Union for Conservation of Nature, Gland, Switzerland and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, Geneva. Varun holds a master’s degree in economics from the HEC, University of Lausanne, Switzerland; and he is originally from Delhi, India.
