SungAh Lee is the Deputy Director General at IUCN. Throughout her career, she has been deeply passionate about and committed to building sustainable and inclusive economies and societies that create opportunities for all. Before joining IUCN, she led the Country Accelerators at the World Economic Forum, led global policy advocacy for Financial Services for the Poor at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, served as the Director at the Union for International Cancer Control and was a founding member and Director of the Alliance for Financial Inclusion. Earlier, she worked at UN agencies and a financial company in South Korea. She is a recipient of the Presidential Award from the President of the Republic of Korea for her contributions to the Korean Presidency of the G20. She served as a Board member at UNCDF’s Shaping Inclusive Finance Transformations program, the Better than Cash Alliance hosted by the UN, and Digital Frontiers Institute.
