Marine Conservation Coordinator, Indianapolis Zoo SSC Global Center for Species Survival

As Marine Conservation Coordinator for the Indianapolis Zoo Global Center for Species Survival, Riley supports the work of marine-focused Species Survival Commission specialist groups and task forces. A member of the SSC for 8 years, he has worked with the Shark, the Seahorse, Pipefish and Seadragon, and Conservation Translocation Specialist Groups. He is author, facilitator, or reviewer on over 900 species assessments for the IUCN Red List. He participated in Red List workshops in Brazil, Colombia, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, and the USA. Riley's work has also focused extensively on biodiversity conservation in Canada. He worked with the Canadian Wildlife Service on ecological integrity in National Wildlife Areas, Parks Canada to survey endangered Southern Resident Killer Whales, and Wildlife Conservation Society Canada on KBAs in British Columbia.
