Executive Secretary, Beyond Plastic Med

Lucile Courtial is a marine biologist specialized in the relationships between organisms and their environment. A graduate of the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Paris, she completed her PhD on the combined effects of UVs and global warming on Scleractinian corals at Centre Scientifique de Monaco. In 2017, she decided to use her knowledge and skills to serve the environment to limit anthropogenic impacts on the ocean and protect it. She therefore joined the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation to coordinate the Beyond Plastic Med (BeMed) initiative that aims to curbing plastic pollution in the Mediterranean Sea. In 2021, Lucile became the executive secretary of the BeMed created association.
