Prof. Liisa TYRVÄINEN
Research Professor, Natural Resources Institute Finland
Liisa Tyrväinen (Dr. For.) works as a research professor at the Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke) in Helsinki. She has led and coordinated large number of multidisciplinary research consortiums, projects and a national research program dealing with health benefits of nature, social and economic benefits of outdoor recreation, nature-based tourism. Her research has strong links to policy-science interface and, she has active research collaboration in Europe, Japan, China and the U.S.. Tyrväinen has authored over 80 articles in peer-reviewed journals and books and altogether close to 300 scientific publications (total nr of citattions is 10 360 (Google scholar)). She is also a member of Metsähallitus board of directors leading management and utilization of state-owned forests and water areas in Finland as well as a member of WWF-Finland board of governors.
