Mr John-Carl WATSON

Manager; Ko'olau Mountains Watershed Partnership, Hawai'i Conservation Alliance Foundation

John-Carl Watson (JC) has been working in the Hawaiʻi conservation field since receiving his Degree in Natural Resources and Environmental Management from the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa. Since that time, he has worked on many fronts with regard to natural resource management in Hawaiʻi and has had the opportunity to work on Hawai’i Island, Maui, Kaho’olawe, Moloka’i, O’ahu, Kaua’i, in Papahānaumokuākea, and across the Pacific. Along his journey, he has held positions in the public, private, and non-profit sectors.

As the Manager of the Ko’olau Mountains Watershed Partnership and Executive Director of the Ko’olau Mountains Watershed Foundation, JC directs landscape scale, multi-partner projects and leads a team of amazing staff dedicated to the stewardship, protection, and restoration of the forests of the Ko’olau Mountains. 

JC was raised on the island O’ahu and lives in the back of Mānoa Valley with his family and plants.
