Emma Torres, Vice- President for the Americas for the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) -a global network of more than 1,400 universities, research centers and other knowledge institutions committed to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). She serves as Strategic Coordinator of the Science Panel for the Amazon (SPA).
She enjoys a long working experience in the United Nations on program development and negotiations to promote sustainable development initiatives globally.
At UNDP, she coordinated three reports: Latin America and the Caribbean: A Biodiversity SuperPower, “Our Own Agenda”, and “Amazonia without Myths”.
Ms Torres holds an MA Economics, Universidad Complutense, Madrid, Spain; Certificates in Environmental Economics and Climate Change, IIED, Harvard University.
