Ms Elizabeth STEPHENSON
Director, Marine Conservation Action Fund (MCAF), New England Aquarium
Elizabeth Stephenson is the director of the New England Aquarium’s Marine Conservation Action Fund (MCAF), a global micro-granting and fellowship program. Elizabeth focuses her work on supporting the long-term success, impact and influence of marine conservation leaders working in low and middle-income countries. She played a leading role in developing the MCAF Fellows Program in 2015 and in running the first MCAF Fellows summit at NEAq in 2019. Elizabeth is an active member of the fellowship consortium, the Conservation Leadership Community of Practice as well as New England International Donors. Elizabeth has a Master’s in Marine Biology and Marine Policy from the University of Maine, Orono. Prior to her role at NEAq, she worked for the Maine Coastal Program where she coordinated the Maine Marine Invasive Species Working Group.
