Mr Dinesh Balam works with WASSAN as a Associate Director. He has 5 yrs of experience in Financial sector and 9 yrs experience in development sector. He works with array of organizations on agrobiodiversity,  agroecology, rainfed agriculture primarily at the intersection of production, consumption and culture. He works in tribal areas of Odisha. He played a key role in design and development of Odisha Millets Mission (oneof the largest comprehensive initiatives to revive millets), Odisha Organic Policy, conservation and livelihood development of native livestock breeds , seed systems for landraces and many other sub national initiatives on agroecology and agrobiodiversity.
