Global Center for Species Survival, Global Center for Species Survival
I am the Mammal Lead for the new Global Center for Species Survival, a partnership between the IUCN SSC and the Indianapolis Zoo, where I work with the SSC Mammal Specialist Groups. Before joining the Global Center, I was the Chief Conservation Officer for Rainforest Trust, where I led a team that oversaw over 150 projects aimed at establishing protected areas in KBAs globally (tropics). Before moving back to the US in mid-2018, I spent a decade living on abroad in Cambodia, Kenya and the UK. I worked with the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) and led their in-country programs and projects in Indonesia as well as Thailand and Russia; completed field research on marine conservation and socioeconomics in Kenya; assisted local NGOs in East Africa with strategic planning and developing resilience; and helped establish and manage wildlife health programs in five Asian countries through the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS).
