Dr Adalbert AINE-OMUCUNGUZI

East African Regional Manager, International Crane Foundation

Adalbert holds a PhD in Natural Resource Ecology, Conservation and Management, a master’s degree in Natural Resource Ecology, Conservation and Management and a bachelor of Science with Education degree in Biology and Chemistry.  He has a rich experience in community conservation particularly around socio-economic drivers of natural resource use, alternative livelihood development and poverty-conservation linkages. Adalbert has conducted several studies focusing on socio-economic drivers of resource use by local communities in East Africa and has worked with and understands the dynamics of communities neighbouring crane habitats in Uganda, Kenya, and Rwanda. Adalbert is currently the East African Regional Manager for International Crane Foundation/Endangered Wildlife Trust partnership and is leading the implementation of Conservation interventions that promote ecosystem and community health.
