Ocean health is threatened by four distinct climate related stressors: ocean warming, marine heatwaves, ocean acidification and deoxygenation, in addition to other human-induced stressors. There is growing evidence that these stressors are co-occurring in regions of the ocean and have cumulative impacts on marine species and ecosystems.
This session will focus on the impacts and repercussions of these stressors on ocean health and explore potential mitigation and adaptation solutions, by involving stakeholders from relevant sectors.
