Coastal Health Strategy Director, Iberostar
Erika Harms focused her career in support of the United Nations’ conservation and development priorities. Erika has joined the dynamic team of Wave of Change at Iberostar Group as Coastal Health Strategy Director, where she overseas programs building on NbS to promote coastal health. Prior to joining Iberostar Erika managed the Advisory Network for the High Level Panel for a Sustainable Ocean Economy at the WRI. Erika has spearheaded initiatives such as the Tourism Action Coalition for a Sustainable Ocean, World Heritage Alliance, and the creation of the Global Sustainable Tourism Criteria. She was the Founding Executive Director of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council and Executive Director of the Sustainable Program of the UN Foundation. Erika served as Deputy Chief of Mission and Consul General of Costa Rica in Washington, DC. She holds a Master’s Degree in Natural Resource Management and a Law Degree.
