Mr Richard DUMEZ

Maître de conférences du Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle, Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle

Assistant Professor of MNHN since 2004, my researches, and my teaching in MNHN master degree are based on an ethnoecological approach of contemporary issues (biodiversity conservation; interactions between local people, wildlife managers, and scientists;…) through the study of folk classifications, local ecological knowledge and practices, and representations of the nature. My aim is to contribute to an anthropology of conservation.  From january 2019, I am also Deputy Director of the Research Unit Eco-anthropology (MNHN-CNRS-University of Paris - UMR 7206 Éco-anthropology)
