Thomas Egli is focused on coordinating market-based solutions for small-scale fishers and farmers in developing countries. Through expanding Fair Trade Certified fishery and aquaculture projects managed by Blueyou, he works with stakeholders from all scales to optimise and tap into the productivity of natural systems. Thomas holds a Master of Science in Environmental Sciences from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH). His past work focused on marine conservation and management, as well as project planning and communication. As a researcher with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Thomas worked to assess wild fishery stocks and mediated interactions between scientists, fishers, and First Nations. As a commercial diver and trained naturalist with National Geographic, Thomas brings 10 years of experience managing expeditions and field courses on five continents to the team at Blueyou.
