The Mediterranean forest in the face of global changes

Why attend
The Mediterranean forest supports a stunning ecological diversity in a variety of landscapes. With their distinctive ecological adaptations and their age-old management, today these forests are notably vulnerable to global changes. Their conservation therefore relies on collective efforts which this event will illustrate.
HideDescription
This event is designed to facilitate the dialogue between the speakers and the audience. It comprises short talks by acknowledged experts and feedbacks based on the operating experience of a practitioner, followed by a discussion session with the audience. It aims at i) demonstrating the role of the Mediterranean forests with regards to global changes, ii) alerting on the threats and highlighting the leading role of nature-based solutions in their management, iii) illustrating their central place in the area, and the prominent role of inclusive approaches and stakeholders networks geared towards forest protection and enhancement. This workshop aims to stay close to on-the-ground realities and to show the expertise of the Mediterranean forest stakeholders, as well as their ability to unite and work together: public and private forests, foresters and environmentalists, academics and researchers.
