Director, Science and Policy, The Ramsar Convention on Wetlands

Working in the Secretariat of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands I lead support to the Scientific and Technical Review Panel of the Convention, coordination of approaches to wetlands and sustainable development-related policy, linkages between science and policy, and support in these areas to Contracting Parties. I have previously worked with the UN Environment Programme for 15 years, most recently as Coordinator of a regional intergovernmental body for protection and sustainable development of the coastal and marine environment. I have also worked with the International Union for the Conservation of Nature in different capacities, including as Manager, Oceans and Climate Change and as Coordinator of the Regional Marine Programme for Asia.
