Adaptive Conservation by Design: Conservation decision making with systems and design thinking

Why attend
This is an experiential, hands-on workshop where you will be introduced to Adaptive Conservation by Design (ACD). Within the ACD framework, you will learn how to use systems thinking and design thinking to solve complex, multifaceted conservation challenges in an inclusive and sustainable way.
HideDescription
Conservation challenges are complex and multifaceted and affect many stakeholders with conflicting agendas. Conventional methodologies for addressing these issues are often not collaborative enough and in many cases are rigid and costly. In a time where adaptability, collaboration and innovation are key to facing the rapidly changing challenges fueled by climate change, inequitable use of resources, and massive human migrations, we need to create new tools that can rise to the challenge. Adaptive Conservation by Design adapts systems thinking and design thinking methodologies to identify and diagnose the complexities of conservation challenges, while providing a framework for solution ideation, prototyping and implementation that is quick, flexible and collaborative. During a fully experiential session we will introduce the ACD framework, provide a common language and build a network of expertise.
