I worked for Paraguay´s biodiversity conservation sector for six years. During these past years, I assisted park rangers in implementing conservation on the ground and worked with different stakeholders to promote agroforestry, forest conservation and restoration in the Atlantic Forest. I also supported mammal research in the Pantanal and Chaco regions.
My curiosity about Mindfulness started as I was introduced to it in a course on Leadership for Protected Area Managers, conducted by Colorado State University in 2017. To find out if Mindfulness could help conservationists deal with the high demands of their jobs, in 2021, I conducted my dissertation for the MPhil in Conservation Leadership at the University of Cambridge on “Mindfulness as a Conservation Leadership tool”. This dissertation was developed with support from FFI. One of my main interests is learning about approaches to help conservationists perform well at their jobs while maintaining their well-being.
