The multimedia poster depicts how biotrade value chains improve people’s livelihood and contribute significantly to conservation of biodiversity. In the focus is BioInnovation Africa project funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The project directly promotes European-African business partnerships of which the international value chain based on the marula fruit in Namibia is one example. The marula case is illustrated via a short video and photos. In a video statement, Parliamentary State Secretary to BMZ, Dr Maria Flachsbarth, provides the context for the Ministry’s engagement in the field of biotrade value chains.
